Solar Screens in Benson & Southern Arizona

Custom exterior solar screens that block 80–90% of the sun before it reaches your glass.

Solar screens mount on the outside of your windows and stop the sun's heat before it ever hits the glass. In Southern Arizona that means noticeably cooler rooms, less strain on your AC, reduced glare and UV fading, and better daytime privacy — while you still see out. We fabricate every screen to your exact window openings and install them ourselves.

Real heat reduction

Premium 80% and 90% solar fabrics block the majority of solar heat gain before it reaches the glass, so sun-exposed rooms stay noticeably cooler and your AC doesn't have to work as hard.

Lower cooling load

Less heat coming through the glass means your AC cycles less during the worst of the Arizona summer.

UV & glare control

Cut harsh glare on screens and TVs and slow the sun-fading of floors, furniture, and window coverings.

Daytime privacy

See out clearly during the day while making it much harder to see in.

Common questions

Solar Screens FAQ

Do solar screens really work in Arizona heat?
Yes. Because they stop the sun on the outside of the glass, they prevent heat gain far more effectively than interior blinds or film. On sun-facing windows the difference in room comfort is easy to feel.
What's the difference between 80% and 90% fabric?
Phifer rates its SunTex 80/90 fabrics to block 80–90% of the sun's heat and glare, depending on the fabric selected. That is a fabric performance rating, not a percentage reduction in your home's temperature or energy bill. 90% offers greater shading; 80% keeps a bit more outward visibility. We'll help you choose per window.
Will I still be able to see outside?
Yes — from inside during the day you keep a clear view out. From outside, the screens increase daytime privacy.
How long do solar screens last?
Quality solar fabric and frames hold up for many years in the Arizona sun with basic care. We build them to last and stand behind the work.
